Dive 45 : Monad Shoal, Malapasqua Cebu Philippines

8th Nov 2006, 35min, 23 meters

OK this is what it was all about, I made the whole trip to Malapasqua basically to see the Tresher Shark, and indeed it fullfilled the expectations!

The most amazing shape I've ever seen on a living creature. Really thrilling experience. First murky dive, just waiting on the bottom with not much to see (well those nudey branches just would not do it noh!!?) Lots of tiny glowing shrimps which were cool though. Trumpetfish, jellyfish, great puffer & other meaningless stuff, but most importantly the tresher shark ! Just one, just for 5-10 seconds, just a silhouette, but still, superb !

Dive 44 : Bantigue Malapasqua Philippines

7th November 2006, Dive time 55min.

At first seemed like super boring divesite with just sandy seabottom and no corals, dropffs or whatsoever. But eventually really lot of cool stuff here! Paradise whiptail, lizardfish, cardinalfish, shrimp + goby yhdistelmiä cornelfish (like trumpetfish but with blue mil-lateral stripes) many striped puffers, black suddle snake eel, and best of all a MIMIC OCTAPUS! We spent a good 5-10 mins just staring this one and seeing how it tries to carmoflage itself with the sandy surroundigs. Lots of shrimps, even Manta shrimps, even though not the most colorful type. Also fouund a trap full of big crabs, could not open it unfortunately. Jellyfish. Many Urchin Crabs (white/brown zebra) Initially boring but eventually a great dive.

Dive 43 : Tapilion Wreck, Malapasqua, Philippines

7th Nov 2006, Time 35 min, Depth 28m

Cool wreck of a Japanese gargo ship from WW2. Totally blown apart and in pieces. Not so many fish (lizardfish, scorpionfish, lionfish, slate sweetlips, barracuda). But lot of different nudey branches (chromodoris elizabethina) ja joku iso 15-20cm musta läski (pleurobranchus forskali?) Manila- tai black striped pufferfish, hawkfish, porcupine fish, jeejee!
